Our client is seeking a Health and Safety Manager to join their Corporate Quality Safety Environmental and Sustainability team in Chicago. This role offers a balance between office work and travel to project locations across North America overseeing Wind PV and Battery Storage sites in operation and under construction. If youve led safety operations managed emergency response or made realtime safety adjustments in highpressure situations youre already built for this.
Heres what youll do:
- Run the safety show: Develop implement and maintain core Industrial Safety and Hygiene policies procedures and systems based on US OSHA Canadian MOL and ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management System.
- Take charge in emergencies: Organize and provide WTG Working at Heights and Confined Space Rescue competency verification and drill participation. Design and supervise emergency action plans and drills follow through on improvement actions.
- Own the documentation: Write policy procedures and forms to ensure regulatory compliance and intuitive use. Provide program administration and support for ISO 45001 (primary) 9001 and 14001 (supporting).
- Build the team: Develop and build professional relationships with technicians lead technicians site managers engineers construction managers support staff and senior management.
- Stay ahead of problems: Conduct investigations of incidents and near misses at operational and construction sites. Determine root causes provide corrective actions and follow through on implementation.
- Be the expert: Provide regulatory analysis advice and expertise for emerging proposed and existing regulations. Represent the company with external organizations and regulatory bodies.
- Keep everyone missionready: Teach various safety classes including ACP/OSHA 10hour LOTO confined space rescue electrical safety etc. Travel to sites to provide instruction auditing and support.

Requirements
- Must have served in the U.S. Army U.S. Navy U.S. Marine Corps U.S. Air Force U.S. Coast Guard U.S. Space Force U.S. Reserves or U.S. National Guard.
- Minimum 4years in a safetyrelated position.
- Public speaking experience including training and presentation of reports. Ability to communicate over phone calls verbally webbased presentations small groups and large groups.
- Proven excellent writing skills in English with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively.
- Ability to work in harsh outdoor environments and climb 120 meters of ladder and to assist in a rescue of an injured worker. Pass a fittoclimb medical exam and maintain physical conditioning.
- Leadership skills including earning respect active listening and goal setting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (MS Word Excel Outlook PowerPoint Teams) Adobe Acrobat Standard.
- Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license.
- Overnight travel 2550. Some travel will be incidentrelated emergency travel.
- Must hold or be eligible to hold a U.S. Passport and travel to Canada.

- Advanced technical knowledge of Industrial Safety disciplines (General Industry Construction Behavior Based Safety Human Performance etc. related to construction and operation of power generation projects.
- Wind experience in WTG construction maintenance and major correctives.
- Solar experience in plant construction maintenance and major maintenance.
- BESS experience in plant construction maintenance and major maintenance.
- Experience with programmatic (Compliance and Performance) audits/inspections including record keeping and actionitem resolution.
