What does a Leading Hand at Warakirri Cropping do
- Coordinate machinery activities in the paddock including resupply refueling and logistics between properties.
- Operate farm machinery for various tasks including but not limited to spraying paddock preparation planting spreading cartage and harvest.
- Train and mentor new staff members on machinery operations emphasizing safety timeliness and quality.
- Coordinate with external parties such as contractors and delivery drivers.
- Maximize the efficiency of machinery operations especially when multiple machines are working together such as multiple seeding rigs or spreaders.
- Work with the newest equipment and innovative technology at Warakirri Cropping while observing and monitoring crop health and progress.
- Assist in the testing and recording of grain quality as well as ensuring the safe storage and handling of grain during and after harvest.
- Responsible for some Agworld data entre and ensuring all operation record sheets are submitted on time for end of month process.
- Foster a learning environment at Warakirri Cropping where staff are encouraged to ask questions and learn new things with a strong focus on staff development.
