Job Description

LCRA is looking for a Data Center Administrator to help run multiple data centers. As a member of our team you will be responsible for deploying new hardware managing racks and data center equipment and monitoring for potential issues. We are looking for someone who has experience working in data centers and performing basic troubleshooting of equipment and power has experience terminating different media types and is comfortable working alone or with team members. You will have the opportunity to work in different locations and environments to help LCRAs mission of enhancing the quality of life for Texans we serve.

You will be trusted to:

Monitor data center environmental and power systems to ensure server equipment is operating within acceptable temperature limits.
Order data center supplies in accordance with approved Supply Management procedures. Establish appropriate stock levels of various supplies such as power strips KVM appliances KVM server interfaces server cabinets power and network cabling.
Install and run hardware while ensuring that established policies and procedures are followed.
Assist in developing policy and procedures for data center activities including monitoring and change management.

You qualify with:

Three or more years of experience in data center administration or other relevant experience. A degree(s) in computer science or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.

You are a great fit with:

Experience with basic troubleshooting of server and network equipment through console or other means.
Experience working with server management tools such as HPE iLO Cisco CIMC and Dell iDRAC.
Knowledge of cable standards and experience terminating connections.
