Installer - Glazier

Position Summary
Installers Glaziers will be responsible for commercial onsite installation and repair of Greco Aluminum custommade aluminum railings aluminum and glass railings and other architectural materials for Mid to High rise buildings throughout the Greater Windsor Area. This will include cleaning and preparing worksites removing items to be replaced completing required installations using a variety of craft skills including masonry carpentry glazing and general construction knowledge. The Installer must be capable and adept at using a variety of equipment including power and hand tools.

Responsibilities
Install metal and glass railings which includes the following:
Read and interpret plans instructions blueprints structural drawings and specifications to determine work activities Measure mark and record openings and distances to lay out areas where construction work will be performed; cut put together measure or install metal railings and enclosures for glass paneled railing in various areas and structures; and position join align and seal structural components.
Erect and disassemble scaffolding shoring braces traffic barricades ramps and other temporary structures
Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards; load unload and identify materials machinery and tools; and distribute materials and tools to the appropriate locations according to project plans and specifications
Operate a variety of hand and power tools; lubricate clean maintain and repair machinery equipment and tools
Grind se sand or polish surfaces using abrasive tools or machines
Perform minor masonry and carpentry work
Ensure an adequate supply of material is available for preventative maintenance program.
Keep a daily log of tasks
Perform other duties as needed

Knowledge & Skills
Ability to read building specifications blueprints and asbuilds in order to effectively complete required installations
Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math
Ability to perform strenuous physical labor including lifting and carrying heavy objects under adverse field conditions at heights and in allweather conditions.
Ability to work safely and practice safe lifting and handling procedures
Ability to operate required equipment including hand and power tools in a safe manner
Ability to communicate professionally verbally and in writing with team members and customers.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to solve problems and resolve conflicts with team members and customers in a constructive manner.
Ability to perform first aid and CPR preferred
Ability to work in a team environment with minimum supervision

Experience
1 years of experience measuring and installing metal railings and glass. Experience in a similar role in the construction industry preferably in commercial construction will be considered.

Education
High School Diploma or equivalent

Other Requirements
Must possess a valid drivers license and clean driving record
Overnight travel required 12 times per month
Ability to safely lift 60 lbs.
