Qualifications:
- Previous experience as an instructional assistant in a public school system or experience working with groups of children preferred.
- Basic reading writing and computation skills; good written and oral communication skills; basic computer skills preferred.
- Applicants must meet the requirements for a Title I paraprofessional including:
- Must have a high school diploma or its recognized equivalentand
- Must have metoneof the following options:
- Completed two years of study 48 credit hours) at an institution of higher education;or
- Holdan associates (or higher) degree;or
- Have passed the Parapro Assessment through ETS.
Proof of highly qualified certification must be attached to your application to be considered for this position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide instructional and behavioral support in classrooms as determined by the building administrator and the teacher.
- Assist with emergency procedures and protocol.
- Supervise students in social and developmental activities.
- Provide oneonone or small group instruction for students as needed.
- Implement lessons or programs as directed.
- Assist with ageappropriate individual and group experiences to support learning in all content areas.
- Support smooth transitions and consistency in routines while meeting varying individual student needs.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff students parents and administration.
- Work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Participate in professional development.
- Complete other duties as assigned through the immediate supervisor.

Instructional AssistantGradeC2b Salary Scale(credit is based on years of fulltime experience in a related position)
