SLD Laser a world leader in commercialization of gallium nitride (GaN) based laser light sources was acquired by KYOCERA Corporation and has commenced operations as a wholly owned subsidiary and group company of KYOCERA Corporation under the name KYOCERA SLD Laser Inc. Job Description

The Manager of Laser Product Business Development manager will drive the development of KSLDs business and to create profitable growth by establishing and managing strategic customer relationships leading the development and implementation of a marketing promotional plan for the region and providing input to the organization to related to the organization planning supply chain and operations.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to achieve organizational objectives

  • Identify and evaluate new market opportunities and potential partnerships in markets and applications suitable for KSLDs GaN laser product line.

  • Support and grow existing Customer accounts for KSLDs GaN laser product line.

  • Conduct voice of customer activities gather customer requirements and contribute to KSLDs product and go to market strategy.

  • Work closely with Customers and with the KSLD team in technical product marketing sales applications product engineering finance ops and quality to pursue customer opportunities and win orders and contracts that generate profitable revenue for the company.

  • Create and lead capture plans for target accounts with detailed action planning and timelines.

Experience and Skills

  • 10 years of working experience in business development product management and/or product marketing project/program management or sales role in a qualitydriven global organization.

  • 10 years of direct experience in the photonics industry. Experience in one of more of the following markets: Biotech/ Medical Metrology/Measurement Industrial processing Quantum Computing.

  • Strong understanding and experience of laser technology.

  • Solid understanding of basic financial concepts and their implications for business strategy.

  • Strong ability to analyze complex situations and reach conclusions through logical process of elimination and reasoned factbased decision making.

  • Proven leadership in managing crossfunctional activities as a leader and as a contributor.

  • Should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills through managing by influence. Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; exhibit strong listening and feedback skills; and have the ability to provide clear direction.

  • Positive attitude driven to win desire to work with customers globally.

  • Sense of urgency with personal commitment to the products market success.

  • Team player that is respectful of customers peers subordinates and supervisors.

  • Excellent working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office applications including Excel Word PowerPoint Outlook and MS Project.

  • BS Engineering or Science mandatory MS or PhD Engineering with focus on Optics/Lasers desired.

The fulltime base salary range for the Manager of Laser Product Business Development position is $161500 to $190000 per annum. The range reflects the minimum and maximum possible base salary for new hires for the role based on the advertised location. Individual pay is determined by several factors including work location jobrelated skills experience and relevant education and training.
