Posting Summary
Rutgers The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Mental Health Clinician II for Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care. Under direction the Mental Health Clinician II serves as the senior mental health practitioner who provides lead functions for the program to include screening of intakes and referrals care coordination ensuring completion of program specific documentation and/or comprehensive assessment and therapeutic intervention for the psychological and social needs of child and adolescent (ages 317 years) and/or adult individuals served 18 and over) including development of treatment plans conducting individual group and family therapy and providing case management. Assists with the provision of clinical supervision to licensing candidates as assigned. Among the key duties of this position are the following: Contributes to and supports goals and objectives of the Unit and UBHC . Assesses treatment needs and provides evidence based treatment services and/or case management as clinically indicated to assigned individuals served (individuals groups and families) that is consistent with the service design and philosophy of the program and in accordance with accepted professional and ethical standards of UBHC . Maintains and oversees the maintenance of assigned individuals clinical record in compliance with UBHC The Joint Commission( TJC and other applicable regulatory and accreditation standards that meets quality and program standards. Provides assigned lead functions for the department. Attends to professional selfdevelopment by remaining current in knowledge of trends and development in mental health addictions or cooccurring disorders. Participates in development implementation and evaluation of program services.

Overview
Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care UBHC established in 1971 offers a full continuum of evidence based behavioral health and addiction services for children adolescents adults and seniors throughout New Jersey. UBHCs 1060 experienced behavioral health professionals and support staff are dedicated to treatment prevention and education. UBHC one of the largest providers of behavioral health care in the country has a budget of $260 million and has 15 sites throughout New Jersey. Services are readily accessible and include: inpatient outpatient partial hospitalization screening crisis stabilization family/caregiver support community outreach and case management supportive housing supported employment prevention and consultation employee assistance programs and a licensed therapeutic school from preschool through high school. Specialty services include the New Jersey suicide prevention helpline and peer help lines for police veterans active military teachers mothers of special needs children and child protective service workers. In FY2016 UBHC treated 16199 consumers had 24502 admissions and touched the lives of 19441 individual callers through peer support. In addition UBHC is the primary mental health training resource for the New Jersey departments of Human Services Children and Families and Corrections delivering 16000 trainings each year.
