Senior Mechanical Engineer Deputy Team Manager

AECOM is seeking a motivated and skilled Senior Mechanical Designer/Engineer and Deputy Team Manager to support the design and construction of buildings within the Buildings Places business line. This opportunity could be based out of either our Markham Mississauga or Pickering officeswith opportunities for hybrid work available. 

This is an exciting opportunity for a Seniorlevel Mechanical Engineer with buildings experience to grow into a leadership position. 

AECOM Buildings Places Canada (BP Canada) is a vibrant and growing fully integrated team spanning architecture all the buildings engineering disciplines landscape architecture urban planning urban design economics and asset management for design and infrastructure projects. 

Major Responsibilities: 

• Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team
• Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staffs specific area of expertise.
• Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others.
• Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
• Develops estimates of technical efforts for projects.
• Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of contract documents package.
• Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
• Prepares technical specification sections.
• Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
• Assists mechanical engineering team manager with mentoring junior and intermediate engineering staff.
• Assists team manager with prioritizing workload and projects for CADD and Revit production technicians and technologists.
• Liases with other discipline leads to meet client performance objectives in an optimized and value added manner.
• A motivated and experienced engineer looking to grow into a dynamic and effective people manager.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements: 

In order to be considered for this position candidates must possess no less than:

• University Degree in Mechanical Engineering plus 6 (six) years of experience designing HVAC and plumbing for commercial institutional and light industrial facilities.

Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered. 

• Professional Engineering license is required.

Preferred Requirements: 

• Prefer an individual with 10 (ten) years of experience designing HVAC and plumbing for commercial institutional and light industrial facilities.
•  PWGSC/PSPC Level II Secret Clearance preferred for Federal Projects.
