Senior Transportation Planner
Location: Charlotte NC
Employment Type: FullTime Hybrid
LaBella Associates is seeking an experienced Senior Transportation Planner to join our team in Charlotte NC. In this role youll take the lead on complex planning projects focused on transportation transit and multimodal development. You will manage daytoday project tasks oversee scheduling and staffing and work closely with clients to ensure project success. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape impactful transportation solutions at both local and regional levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Lead large complex transportation planning assignments including corridor studies service planning alternatives analysis and concept development.
- Client and Stakeholder Management: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients advisory boards and elected officials maintaining strong relationships and representing the organization in public forums.
- Assistant Project Management: Support project management functions including staffing scope schedule and budget tracking.
- Transportation Plans & Studies: Conduct and oversee research prepare statistical reports and develop comprehensive transportation analyses.
- Communication: Collaborate daily with Directors and Project Managers maintaining clear communication and updating on project progress.
Qualifications
- Experience: Six years of professional planning experience; a masters degree in planning or a related field plus four years of experience may be substituted.
- Certification: AICP Certification is preferred.
- Professional Involvement: Active membership in a professional practice organization.
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of planning principles and practices including funding mechanisms with expertise in at least one planning discipline (e.g. transportation planning or land use planning/zoning).
- Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills strong client relations and advanced organizational abilities.
