Job Description

St. Pauls seeks a registered nurse in our health center for our overnight shift 10:30 pm to 7:30 am). This position is full time (full time is equivalent to 3 shifts one week 4 shifts one week per 2 week pay period) and will include attendance at a monthly 2 hour staff meeting. This is an academicyear nonexempt staff position.

The registered nurse provides quality nursing care to St. Pauls School students in both an outpatient and inpatient setting. This includes but is not limited to: conducting physical assessments triage of students for scheduled appointments and walkin appointments communicating with parents documenting in an electronic medical record working collaboratively with the medical director nurse practitioner and counselors assisting the physician or nurse practitioner during consultations when appropriate implementing nursing protocols and other medical/nursing orders for the treatment and care of students preoperative and postoperative care collecting specimens for diagnostic exams provide health education vaccine administration and medication administration. Safe medication handling and storage are also an important aspect of this position.

Education Training and Experience: Must be currently licensed as a RN in the state of New Hampshire. Experience with adolescents or school nursing is a plus. CPR certification must be current.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Language Skills: Good oral and written communication skills.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates Licenses Registrations: Must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (R.N. in the state of New Hampshire and have CPR certification current.

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
