Overview:

A reputable company in southwest Nebraskais currently seeking a talented and experienced Grain Superintendent to join our dynamic team. As a Grain Superintendent you will play a crucial role in overseeing all operations related to grain handling and storage. Your exceptional leadership skills attention to detail and passion for the agriculture industry will contribute to the overall success of our clients businesses.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage daytoday activities of grain elevators including the safe and efficient operation of equipment facilities and personnel.
  • Supervise a team of grain workers ensuring they adhere to company policies and safety regulations while maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
  • Oversee grain storage loading and unloading procedures ensuring accurate grain identification quality control and inventory management.
  • Coordinate and schedule grain receiving and shipping activities to optimize logistics and meet customer demands.
  • Maintain grain quality through regular testing monitoring moisture levels and implementing appropriate treatments to prevent spoilage or contamination.
  • Collaborate with farm managers and producers to develop grain marketing strategies including pricing hedging and contracting.
  • Train and mentor staff on proper grain handling techniques equipment operation and safety protocols.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of grain inventory transactions and regulatory compliance.
  • Implement and enforce safety programs and protocols ensuring a culture of safety and minimizing accidents and injuries.
  • Stay uptodate with industry trends emerging technologies and best practices in grain handling to enhance operational efficiency and profitability.

Requirements:

  • 5 years of experience in a similar role preferably as a Grain Superintendent.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of grain handling storage and marketing practices.
  • Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record in successfully managing and motivating a team.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and make effective decisions under pressure.
  • Detailoriented mindset with exceptional organizational and problemsolving skills.
  • Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and ability to enforce safety protocols.
  • Proficiency in using grain handling equipment computerized systems and software.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours including evenings and weekends as needed during peak periods.
  • Valid drivers license and ability to travel occasionally to visit client locations.
