A key pillar of our expansion is the creation of a department called Community Engagement for Decolonizing and Advancing Research or CEDAR our new Indigenous Health Research and Evaluation Center. Built on a foundation of successful research partnerships with Indigenous health scholars across the country the center will lead cuttingedge projects that inform and elevate best practices in Indigenous health. This initiative reflects our dedication to not only providing exceptional care but also shaping the future of Indigenous healthcare through evidencebased research and community collaboration.

Our current research agenda is predicated on Indigenous knowledges and cultural values and is grounded in four critical pillars:

  • Clinical areas of significance (i.e. behavioral health infectious disease cancerrelated conditions etc.
  • Political determinants of health (i.e. legacies of failed policy that contribute to poor outcomes including houselessness deep poverty intergenerational disruptions in wealth building and education etc.
  • Cultural drivers of health and wellbeing (i.e the reconnection to our land and water indigenous ancestral knowledge and wisdom lifesustaining practices embedded in cultural life ways etc.
  • Community knowledge mobilization (i.e. community identified research and evaluation training opportunities communities of practice best practices for ICBR etc.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Research Manager will play a pivotal role in coordinating overseeing and managing all aspects of our research projects. They will lead the Research Coordinator team ensuring quality control on research and data collection and overseeing reporting processes. This role involves extensive collaboration with various departments and external partners to implement the clinics research goals and objectives. The Research Manager will ensure all research activities are culturally sensitive ethical and comply with applicable regulations and standards.

KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Coordination:
    • Coordinate and manage multiple research projects concurrently ensuring they align with the clinics goals and objectives.
    • Facilitate communication and collaboration between project teams departments and external partners.
  2. Team Management:
    • Lead and supervise the Research Coordinator team providing guidance support and performance feedback.
    • Facilitate team development and training to enhance skills and knowledge in research methodologies and best practices.
  3. Quality Control and Assurance:
    • Oversee the quality of research and data collection ensuring accuracy reliability and validity.
    • Implement and maintain quality control processes and standards to uphold the integrity of research data and findings.
  4. Reporting Oversight:
    • Oversee the compilation and presentation of research findings and reports ensuring clarity coherence and compliance with relevant guidelines.
    • Ensure timely submission of highquality reports to relevant stakeholders.
  5. Implementation of Research Goals:
    • Work with organizational leaders to develop and implement research goals and strategies that align with the clinics mission and values.
    • Monitor progress against goals and adapt strategies as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
  6. Cultural Competency:
    • Ensure all research projects are conducted with cultural sensitivity and respect for the Native American community.
    • Engage with community members and leaders to incorporate traditional knowledge and perspectives into research methodologies and findings.
  7. Compliance and Ethics:
    • Ensure that all research activities comply with local state and federal regulations and maintain the highest ethical standards.
    • Stay abreast of changes in regulations and best practices in research implementing necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This position will manage 35 Research Staff

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors degree in Public Health Social Sciences or a related field (Masters preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in research or systems management preferably in a healthcare or communitybased setting.
  • Demonstrated experience with project management team leadership and research methodologies.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Native American culture traditions and community needs.
  • Strong analytical organizational and problemsolving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in statistical software and data analysis.
