Job Description
The Dedham School District is anticipating the following employment opportunities for Extended School Year Services (ESY):
- Special Education Teachers
- Paraprofessionals to support all programs
- BCBAs
- Psychologist
- Speech and Language Therapists
- Occupational Therapist
- Nurses
- Specialized Reading Tutors
Extended School Year program dates vary based on student groupings and individual needs. The ESY team has the following opportunities:
PRESCHOOL and K Programming
Elementary Programming:
SPARK 7/78/1 MF 812
NOTE: Special Education staff are hired for two 2week sessions at Camp Spark
STAR at Avery 7/78/7 MTh 812
MIDDLE SCHOOL Programming:
MS LEAP 6/247/31 MTH 812:30
MS Pathways 7/77/31 MTh 812:30
MS Connections 7/78/7 MTh 812:30
HIGH SCHOOL Programming:
- Camp Spark Training TLC Studios July 1
- Camp Spark Onboarding & Orientation July 2
- Camp Spark Planning (asynchronous) July 3
Staff Expectations:
All summer staff will be expected to attend orientation with general education summer information.
To ensure consistency of programming and coverage it is required that all teachers commit to the full program to which they are assigned and schedule vacations around the ESY schedule. Those that cannot are encouraged to apply for substitute positions or find a job share partner.
Please note that staff preferences regarding grade/age will be honored to the extent possible.
ESY special education liaisons will take daily attendance and collect regular data towards existing IEP goals completing ESY progress reports as required.
