JOB TITLE: Student Activities Team Member
DEPARTMENT AND LOCATION OF JOB: Student Engagement Learning Resource Center FVCC Kalispell Campus
ELIGIBILITY: Students must be Work Study Eligible (as determined by Financial Aid)
START DATE: This position will start Fall Semester 2024
LENGTH OF EMPLOYMENT: Academic Calendar Year 2024/2025
PAY RANGE: $13.00 $14.00 per hour depending on experience
WORK SCHEDULE: Flexible schedule between Monday and Friday 8 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; occasional evenings and weekends. This position may work up to 19 hours per week.
DRESS CODE: Business casual with appropriate coverage
POSITION PURPOSE/ROLE: Under the supervision of the Student Engagement Coordinator
POSITION DUTIES: - Assist with planning and implementing service projects and events.
- Design create and distribute student activity promotional materials.
- Assist with social media posts and marketing of events.
- Provide assistance at outreach and special events.
- Perform customer service by greeting fellow students in the lounge.
- Maintain accurate files and perform data entry.
- Perform general office tasks using office equipment such as computer and photocopier.
- May perform other like duties as requested.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - Basic office and technology skills and willingness to learn new programs
- Ability to work independently or as a team player
- Ability to work with students staff faculty and community partners
- Willingness to try new things and have fun
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Experience with Canva
- Experience with social media
STUDENT SKILL DEVELOPMENT: Communication critical and reflective thinking customer service leadership professionalism teamwork PREDICTED OUTCOME: Practical competence critical thinking collaboration communicating effectively technological competence demonstrating professionalism teamwork
STUDENT EMPLOYMENT GUIDELINES: - Students must be enrolled in a minimum of six 6 credits for fall or spring semester to qualify for student employment.
- Students may not work beyond 19 hours per week during semester.
- Student workers shall be actively engaged; no use of cell phones (except in case of emergency) or social media.
- Student workers shall demonstrate a commitment to the job with adherence to work schedule effective communication/interpersonal skills and quality customer service skills to be a representative of FVCC.
