As aDirect Support Professional you will support positive behaviors teach communication skills and maintain health and hygiene for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Your day will be spent in familystyle group homes and Day Service centers to assist with client goals and personal care needs.

As aDirect Support Professional you will support positive behaviors teach communication skills and maintain health and hygiene for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Your day will be spent in familystyle group homes and Day Service centers to assist with client goals and personal care needs.
EntryLevel Qualifications:
- At least 18 years of age
- Must pass criminal background check
- Must have a valid drivers license and safe driving record (day positions only)
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs to physically assist individuals
- Flexibility in assigned working location based on client needs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous caregiving or direct support experience ideally in a residential or therapeutic setting
- Experience working with clients with aggressive or disruptive behaviors
- Training in crisis intervention or deescalation techniques
Shifts & Schedules available:
- Days: 7am7pm or 8am8pm
- FrontHalf (SunWed)
- Midweek (Tue/Wed/Thu)
- BackHalf (WedSat)
Some duties:
- Implementing behavioral procedures for preventing and responding to challenging behaviors
- Assisting or fully supporting with personal care needs (bathing toileting grooming)
- Helping clients reduce challenging behaviors by teaching appropriate replacement behaviors
- Teaching and supporting daily living skills (cooking cleaning laundry)
- Transporting clients in company van
- Administering medications
- Supporting clients at their Day Service programs
- Observing documenting and reporting data on daily activities

This pay range represents GoodLifes average range for this role at the time of posting. Compensation offered will depend on various factors including but not limited to shift type and program location.
