Gabletek is looking for an experienced Welder to join our team! The Welder will be responsible for working with metal components to create structures equipment and other items by joining them together. This individual should be highly skilled in welding processes including Mig Tig Arc and OxyAcetylene welding. The successful candidate should have excellent attention to detail a commitment to safety and the ability to follow detailed instructions. Job Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications
- Operate manual or semiautomatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments
- Select and install torches torch tips filler rods and flux according to welding chart specifications or types and thickness of metals
- Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications
- Grind or clean weld joints to ensure requirements are met
- Monitor the fitting and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping shrinking distortion or expansion of material
- Set up and operate fabricating machines such as brakes shears and other metal straightening and bending machines
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment
- Perform preventative maintenance on welding equipment
- Repair worn parts of metal products by welding on extra layers
- Perform minor maintenance work on welding equipment such as replacing worn or broken parts
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous welding experience required
- Knowledge of welding principles and techniques
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments
- Ability to troubleshoot welding equipment
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work long hours in a safe and efficient manner
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures
- Must pass a welding test
- Must have a valid drivers license
- Must have reliable transportation
