Job Description

Position Summary: The purpose of this position is to perform professional nursing duties so as to advance the wellbeing health and safety and academic success of students and staff of the Leicester Public Schools during the 8th grade Field trip to Washington D.C. from May 19 to May 23 2025. (Special Assignment Travel School Nurse)Essential Duties & Responsibilities: *Respond promptly to emergencies and administer first aid to students/staff. *Triages students/staff with an injury illness or accident and provides appropriate interventions. *Provides medically prescribed nursing interventions based on state regulations. *Administration of medication in compliance with school policy and state regulations. *Assists school personnel in identifying health and safety conditions. *Collaborates with school staff regarding safety plans for disabled or special needs students. *Provides individual health instruction for students as needed. *Reports to parents regarding individual student health issues in a timely manner. *Create Individual Healthcare and Emergency Plans for students with chronic illness life threatening allergies etc. *Advocate and make referrals for outside community agencies/providers for students in need. *Reports all suspected cases of child abuse and neglect in compliance with state regulations. *Maintains a daily log of health service activities using the electronic health record/SNAP. *Performs other responsibilities as assigned by the Nurse Leader building principal and Superintendent.
