TheStructural Engineerwill be responsible for providing designs analyses and consulting for a variety of building and nonbuilding structures supporting DOE/NNSA and commercial nuclear projects and missions.
Responsibilities
- Plan organize and coordinate structural engineering and multidisciplined team/design projects while engaged in the planning design and construction phases of engineering projects.(Senior Level)
- Prepare and review of calculations drawings and specifications relating to seismic and wind analyses foundation design structural framing analyses and design and bracing analyses and design.
- Perform analysis utilizing hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to evaluate structures.
- Conduct construction document reviews as required.
- Perform facility walkdowns as required.
- Coordinate and iterate design efforts withother engineering disciplines and customer stakeholders.
- Perform all work under quality assurance requirements which conform tothe company Quality Assurance Programand/orregulatory requirements from other U.S. government agencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil / Structural Engineering.
- 3 years of design or field experience.
- Familiarity with computer aided drafting applications is required.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications- 2 years of experience with structural analysis hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software. (i.e. STAAD.Pro SAP2000
- 2 years of experience inspecification preparation construction document preparation and related phases of engineering.
- Experience in renovating/modifying existing facilities is a plus.
- Experience in DOE/NNSA or commercial nuclear industries is a plus.
- Ability to obtain and to maintain US security clearance is preferred.
