Job Description

Job Description:
The teacher will be responsible for working with a variety of special needs students. The teacher will be responsible for writing IEPs attending all meetings specific to their assigned students and interfacing with other content teachers in the school.

Reports to: SpEd Director


Qualifications:

  • College Degree must provide Transcripts
  • Must hold or able to obtain Special Education certification in Arizona.
  • Able to obtain or possess an Arizona DPS IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

Responsibilities include:

  • Create a flexible program of instruction and modify general curriculum for students with a wide range of disabilities.
  • Assist Middle School students with disabilities to help them be successful in their curriculum and work towards their goal of graduation.
  • Meet regularly with parents and classroom teachers to determine individualized education needs.
  • Collect data on current goals and maintain records.
  • Write annual IEPs and quarterly progress reports.
  • Administer standardized tests to students with special needs.

Evaluation: The teacher is evaluated by the building principal as outlined in state law and board policy.
