Description

Under the guidance of a Senior Maintenance Technician theMaintenance Technician Apprentice will learn the skills and knowledge required to performance maintenance tasks. This role is expected to attend and complete Apprentice program. This is a full time Apprenticeship and will combine company paid education with full time on the job paid experience.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the inspection maintenance and repair of machinery equipment and facilities under the supervision of a Senior Maintenance Technician including:
  • Perform preventive maintenance functions such as cleaning lubricating and adjusting equipment.
  • Install start up and shut down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures and in line with OSHA requirements.
  • Maintain housekeeping of work area and equipment
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals diagrams sketches engineering specifications and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Learn to read and understand technical manuals blueprints and schematics.
  • Participate in classroom instruction and onthejob training to gain the skills and knowledge necessary to become a fully qualified maintenance technician or engineer.
  • Keep a record of all maintenance work performed and report any issues or problems to the supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned which may include
    • Machine pumping cleaning oiling
    • Welding and fabrication
    • Operation of drill press lathe and mill for equipment repairs
Qualifications/Requirements:
    • High School diploma or equivalent.
    • Enrollment or ability to enroll within 1 year of hire and active participation in a accredited apprentice program.
    • Must be a collaborative team player willing to take ownership of decisions and be a resultsoriented selfstarter.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude.
    • Must have strong troubleshooting skills.
    • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
    • Valid drivers license for forklift operation.
    • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds independently.
    • Must be able to stand/walk for a minimum of 8 hours.
Desired Characteristics:
  • Must be able to work effectively in all environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and coordinate several projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to analyze problems identify root causes and provide efficient solutions.
