Highlander Charter Schools Beyond the Bell program is an innovative initiative designed to provide additional academic support credit recovery and expanded learning opportunities for high school students beyond the traditional school day. The program offers tutoring firsttime course acquisition and flexible learning options that support student success.We are seeking a certified and dedicated science teacher to teach a firsttime acquisition course as part of this afterschool academic support program. The successful candidate will use Highlanders highquality standardsaligned curriculum to provide engaging and effective instruction for students who are entering science for the first time. This role includes collaborating with the content lead during the school day to ensure curriculum alignment and a consistent supportive learning experience for students.This is a grantfunded position. Continued employment is contingent upon the availability of grant funding.Responsibilities:Implement Highlanders highquality standardsaligned science curriculum for the firsttime acquisition course.Provide direct instruction to students entering science for the first time ensuring clarity and engagement in the content.Collaborate with the content lead and other teachers to ensure the curriculum is aligned and consistent across instruction.Monitor student progress provide individualized feedback and make necessary adjustments to instruction to meet students needs.Create and maintain a positive and supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and learning.Communicate regularly with students parents and school leadership regarding student progress and challenges.Attend any required training sessions or program planning meetings.Communicate materials and supply lists to the program coordinator.Submit lesson plans and any other necessary documentation for approval before implementing instruction.Maintain accurate records of student attendance performance and grades.Follow all district and school policies related to instruction and student confidentiality.Be open to observation and evaluation by school leadership and the content lead with a commitment to continuous improvement and alignment.
