Job Description
Our Client is a startup developing the nextgeneration of energy efficient LED light bulbs.Our clientoffers highly competitive compensation and benefit plans.
Summary
The candidate will be a resourceful problem solver with a strong technical background and who is able to come up with innovative solutions and displays a whatever it takes attitude.
Responsibilities:
Perform conceptual and detailed designs and engineering analyses
Prepare drawings specifications technical briefs reports and other documentation
Effectively define implement and drive projects to successful completion
Design and build prototypes to validate concepts
Execute new product development processes and perform accurate analysisand documentation of designs
Maintain and commit to schedules and budgets (design prototype and test)
Validate functional requirements (form function manufacturing and reliability) and design constraints (cost timing and quality). Use modeling and predictive techniques to validate designs
Work with vendors to bring up new parts engaging in DFM and tool qualification
Assist manufacturing team in design reviews and as needed to support products being launched into production
Qualifications:
Senior Mechanical Engineer with strong mechanical design experience and a strong track record in new product development
BSc/ MSc in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 3 years experience in product design
Demonstrated ability to go from problem description and sketch through conceptual exploration prototyping
testinganddetailed engineering design
Project management and analytical skills (managingdata and production support)
High volume lean & low cost manufacturing experience
Experience in the design of metal stampings injection molding and blow molding parts
Circuit design and layout is a plus
Experience designing with semiconductor lasers or LEDs desired
Thermal fluid flow and materials modeling would be a plus
Assembly tooling design support Prototype assembly and testing
Proficient in Solidworks
Other computer proficiencysuch as Microsoft Office MRP
Experience with Arena or similar PLM a plus
Experience withgated new product development processes
