The Auxiliary Groups Senior Manager is the primary staff liaison to the Field Museum Womens Board (WB) and the Field Associates (FA) young professionals board. The Senior Manager works with the Director of Individual Giving and Auxiliary Groups to direct governance and fundraising strategies for the Womens Board and Field Associates. The Auxiliary Groups Senior Manager supports the Fields longterm relationships with WB and FA members and supports work with Trustees and other highlevel donors who participate in WB and FA activities and events.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Womens Board Management
- Direct Womens Board fundraising activities with a goal of raising $2.5M annually through a combination of the Gala Women in Science luncheon Annual Appeal and special projects.
- Develop strategy and implement plans and materials for all Womens Board meetings and group activities.
- Oversee sponsorship and planning for the annual Gala (fall) and Women in Science Luncheon and Outreach Student Program (spring). Includes solicitations staffing event chairs creating remarks/event scripts reservations budget and expense management and donor stewardshiponsite event management of Womens Board volunteers Museum staff and vendors.
- Manage all internal Womens Board planning policies budgets and communications.
- Together with the Director of Individual Giving and Auxiliary Groups evaluate membership programming and event models to ensure sustainable growth for Womens Board annual unrestricted and restricted giving that meets Museum and donor goals. Create and implement new models where needed.
Field Associates Management
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure the Field Associates reach the $125000 annual fundraising goal.
- Support longterm relationship development with Field Associates members which leads to increased giving over time.
- Ensure fundraising success and oversee planning for the annual Soiree at the Gala (fall).
- Evaluate membership programming and event models to ensure sustainable growth for annual giving that meets Museum and donor goals. Create and implement new models where needed.
- Ensure a strong structure for the Field Associates leadership model with opportunities for engagement at all levels of membership (general members committee members executive committee).
Qualifications:
- A bachelors or higher degree is required.
- Five years of development or related experience is required.
- Experience staffing highlevel donors and leading large events.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet short deadlines. Strong administrative and organizational skills and attention to detail are critical.
- Outstanding and diplomatic interpersonal skills are critical to ensure successful interactions with highlevel constituents.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint are required. Experience with Raisers Edge is strongly preferred.
- Discretion is required in handling highly confidential financial information.
- Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of assignments and projects.
- Flexibility to work on occasional weekends and evening events is required.
Compensation Range: $74000$77000
