The community you will be a part of is our culinary patient care within Lakeshore Rehabilitation Hospital a leading provider of inpatient rehabilitation for stroke brain injury hip fracture and other complex neurological and orthopedic conditions.

Your Impact

You can contribute to the teams success by delivering meals accurately and on time tray passers help ensure patients dietary needs are met contributing to their overall comfort and satisfaction during recovery.

What you will do:

  • Tray Preparation: Assemble meal trays according to dietary guidelines and patient preferences.
  • Delivery: Deliver trays to patient rooms in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Accuracy: Verify that all items on the tray match the patients dietary orders.
  • Patient Interaction: Communicate with patients to ensure their needs are met and address any concerns related to their meals.
  • Sanitation: Collect and return soiled trays to the kitchen ensuring cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained.
  • Documentation: Record any special dietary needs or requests from patients.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the dietary and nursing staff to ensure seamless service delivery prep items needed such as cakes stock nourishment stations and role silverware.
  • Comfort and Satisfaction: By delivering meals accurately and on time tray passers help ensure patients dietary needs are met contributing to their overall comfort and satisfaction during recovery.
  • Personal Interaction: Tray passers often engage with patients providing a friendly face and a moment of human connection which can be uplifting and reassuring.
  • Efficiency:By handling meal delivery they free up medical staff to focus on more critical patient care tasks

What Were Looking For:

  • Enthusiasm for cooking and learning new techniques.

  • Walk and stand during the entire shift if needed
  • Ability to interact and respond to questions from groups of managers clients team members and guests
  • ServSafe Certification and State Food Handlers Card
  • Successful candidates must meet eligibility criteria including the ability to undergo and successfully complete a criminal background check and drug screen in accordance with applicable State laws and regulations.
  • Ability to provide documents for work authorization. We utilize EVerify an online system that allows us to confirm the eligibility of our employees to work in the United States.
  • High School Diploma/GED

Physical and Sensory Requirements

Requires mobility to stand and walk extensively during meal preparation and service. Lifting boxes up to 25 pounds. Pushing/Pulling Food Hot Boxes up to 50 pounds. Bending and stooping for access to carts food trays and other kitchen equipment. Manual dexterity for the use of kitchen utensils and tools. Visual acuity for reading menus labels and directions. Hearing ability to respond to verbal communications. Exposure to hot and cold temperatures. Taste and Smell to assess food quality freshness and adherence to dietary requirements. Ability to distinguish colors for food presentation.
