Position: Instructional Aide 7 hours per day/10 months)
Available through June 30 2025

The Opportunity:
The instructional aide will work closely with the classroom teachers to provide a nurturing environment that respects and honors the individual needs of all children while also challenging them to meet high standards. In conjunction with the classroom teacher and/or the administration the instructional aide will be expected to plan for and teach small and large groups; assist in developing units of study with the assistance of the teacher keep track of student progress through assessment and recordkeeping systems; and along with the classroom teacher occasionally participate in caregiver conferences. Other duties include conducting arrival lunch and recess activities; accompanying children on field trips; duplicating materials; operating audiovisual equipment; assisting in specials; managing the whole class when the teacher attends meetings; and performing other tasks requested by the teacher and administration. Toileting of students is a duty that an individual may be expected and required to perform as a paraprofessional employed by the Cambridge Public Schools.
This position is currently available through the end of theschool year.
Your Skill Set:
As the incoming Instructional Aide you will possess many though perhaps not all of the following characteristics and qualifications:
- Minimum of an Associates degree or 48 college credits
- Previous experiences working with students in a diverse urban setting preferred
- Knowledge of the social emotional and behavioral development of children preferred
- Ability to work with children in both small and large groups in activitybased classroom settings
- Technologically savvy
- Ability to speak a language other than English is highly desirable
