A Glimpse of the Job
The Financial Specialist II under general supervision provides advanced clerical accounting and customer service support duties.
Essential Duties/Tasks
Audit Vouchers Processes AggieBuy invoices before the payment due date. Reviews medical indemnity royalty and outside counsel vouchers in FAMIS while maintaining compliance with TAMU TAMU System and state of Texas disbursement guidelines. Works to resolve any problems or gather missing documentation in a timely manner and keep information organized and flowing.
Commodity Code Assignment Assigns commodity codes on AggieBuy requisitions accurately and timely; within 1 hour for regular and rush confirming requisitions and within 24 hours for confirming requisitions while providing quality customer service to the university community and vendors.
Customer Service Researches and resolves problems and discrepancies. Handles emails and phone calls within specified timelines. Contributes to the team by working effectively with individuals of various backgrounds. Serves as a resource in educating the departmental personnel in Accounts Payable procedures. Works with vendors to assist them with identifying proper payment application as well as serving as a liaison between vendors and TAMU departments and TAMU System parts to initiate payment.

Required Education and Experience
High school graduation or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Five years of experience in a specialized field such as accounts payable payroll student accounts.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of word processing spreadsheet and database applications.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Other Requirements and Factors
This position is security sensitive.
This position requires compliance with state and federal laws/codes and Texas A&M University System/TAMU policies regulations rules and procedures.
All tasks and job responsibilities must be performed safely without injury to self or others in compliance with System and University safety requirements.
