Job Title: Major Gift Officer Fairfield Prep (Fairfield Conn.
Position Overview: Fairfield College Preparatory School (Fairfield Prep) seeks a strategic fundraising professional who will advance the schools Jesuit mission by securing major gifts in support of its strategic priorities. Under the leadership of President Christian Cashman Fairfield Preps campus alumni and parent communities have never been more vibrant. Evidence includes fundraising momentum for the $90 million Go Forth campaign and the upcoming groundbreaking for its centerpiece project the 47627 square foot Barron Arts and Recreation Center.
Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Advancement the Major Gift Officer will ensure the success of the campaigns final phase and help to build a strong foundation for Fairfield Preps fundraising future. The incumbent will contribute to the collaborative culture of the Advancement team and to the schools reputation as a destination of choice for professionals committed to Jesuit education.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive growth in both number of commitments and total dollars raised of major gifts $50K) to Fairfield Prep in support of the Go Forth campaign and other school priorities
Manage a portfolio of approximately 120 major gift prospects
Identify qualify cultivate solicit and steward to maximize philanthropic investments in Fairfield Prep
Adhere to prospect management best practices including the timely input of contacts and movement in prospect stages
Meet annual productivity goals as determined by Advancement leadership
Complete a minimum of 100 prospect meetings annually with attention to unique households and portfolio penetration
Build a pipeline of active gift conversations to achieve annual fundraising goals (total dollars raised new proposals presented etc.
Working closely with the AVP of Advancement support the schools president in his role as chief fundraiser
Serve as an advisor on prospect cultivation and solicitation strategies ensure that the president is effectively briefed and staffed for donor meetings and fundraising events and that his time is optimally leveraged
Foster a culture of high achievement through collaboration professional development and mutual accountability
Coordinate and integrate engagement and annual fund strategies for portfolio prospects
Contribute thoughtfully to the Advancement teams annual planning process
Requirements:
A bachelors degree and 35 years of progressively responsible fundraising experience in advancement or related field. Prior experience working with comprehensive campaigns ideally in a school setting is preferred.
A proven track record of success in securing five and sixfigure gifts
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal organizational and problemsolving skills with attention to detail the ability to work with ambiguity navigate complex work environments and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
The credibility maturity and sound judgement required to effectively engage and leverage senior leaders and volunteers in the cultivation solicitation and stewardship of key prospects and donors.
Highly motivated and dedicated to the goals of advancing secondary education with a genuine appreciation for Jesuit Catholic education and the values of Fairfield College Preparatory School.
Flexibility and ability to travel and participate in evening/weekend events
Experience working with various technologies including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Raisers Edge NXT; experience with GiveCampus preferred.
Salary: Compensation range is $115K$125K annually plus benefits.
