ABOUT OUR ORGANIZATION
Goodwill SWMI is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization headquartered in Kalamazoo Michigan. Our nearly 300 dedicated team members help achieve our mission of improving the community by providing employment education training and support services tailored to individual needs across a six county territory. At Goodwill SWMI the work we do makes a difference in the lives of the individuals we serve and in turn in the communities in which we live.
Goodwill SWMI manages ten retail stores (with attached attended donation centers and one standalone donation center) Contract Manufacturing Operations as well as Custodial & Janitorial business units. These business operations provide stability to our organization that is not always enjoyed by nonprofit organizations solely funded by outside sources.

General Responsibilities
It is the responsibility of the Class A truck driver to deliver product between stores warehouses and plant. The Class A truck driver will regularly drive a tractor trailer but will drive other vehicles as needed. The driver will demonstrate the agencys core values of Success Collaboration People and Productivity.
Essential Duties Responsibilities and Functions
- Make pickups and deliveries to stores in a safe and timely manner
- Operate vehicle according to various municipal requires e.g. speed limits seasonal loads
- Ensure that all loads are secure and all product is delivered without damage
- Switch trailers; load and unload trucks safely
- Inspect truck daily and maintain daily inspection record that is accurate and legible; report any need for repairs promptly and in writing
- Perform other duties assigned by Commercial Services Supervisor or designee
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Possession of a Class A Commercial Driver License
Ability to read write and express ideas in English
Ability to perform mathematical functions as needed: addition subtraction multiplication
Ability to solve problems on the fly
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly occasionally lift up to 75 pounds; frequent reaching bending twisting standing stooping; ability to see with corrective lenses ability to hear; sitting and operating vehicle for extended periods
Other
Must maintain qualifications for Class A DOT license including meeting DOT physical requirements and random drug screens
Must be able to work five days per week eight hours per day occasional weekend callin
Regularly lift 50 lbs; stand stoop bend reach 57 hours per day
Must pass a preemployment drug screen and theftrelated background check
Must be approved to drive under the Agencys Commercial Vehicle insurance policy
There is no interstate travel
