Thomas Jefferson University seeks a collaborative and engaging academic physician leader to serve as the next Chair of the Department of Dermatology & Cutaneous Biology at Sidney Kimmel Medical College located on the Universitys 13acre campus in Center City Philadelphia.Job Description
Reporting to the Dean of Sidney Kimmel Medical College the Chair will oversee all departmental programs including an ACGMEaccredited Dermatology residency and Dermatopathology fellowship ensuring outstanding education clinical training and research opportunities for the Departments residents and fellows as well as students at the Medical College.
The Chair will oversee a growing academic practice and will ensure exceptional care is provided at the Departments 3 outpatient offices and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital Jefferson Healths flagship quaternary care hospital and the Universitys primary teaching hospital. The Departments academic practice includes 11 clinical faculty 3 advanced practice providers 13 residents and fellows and 2 histotechnologists.
Additionally the successful candidate will play a key strategic role in driving systemness for the Universitys health system partner Jefferson Health which has grown from a threehospital urban academic medical center to a network of 32 hospitals comprised of both employed and independent physician practices contractuallyaligned with Jefferson. In line with Jeffersons commitment to providing enhanced access to valuebased care the Chair will pursue strategic opportunities to effectively scale the value proposition of a growing system while ensuring the delivery of highquality care aligned with network standards and expected by Jefferson patients.

Qualifications
An academic career trajectory with increasing levels of administrative responsibilities ideally culminating in serving as Chair Vice Chair Chief or other senior leadership role for a Department of Dermatology.
A demonstrated ability to advance tripartite clinical education and research missions including a strong record of teaching and program administration; leading care quality improvement initiatives; supporting the growth development mentorship and wellbeing of faculty clinicians and trainees; and facilitating research with a working understanding of the supporting infrastructure and nuances of clinical research.
Experience with the operational and nancial management aspects of administering a department including prior responsibilities for budget management strategic planning and resource management.
A record of scholarship and academic accomplishments which merits appointment at the rank of associate or full professor at Sidney Kimmel Medical College.
An MD/DO or equivalent international degree current board certification in Dermatology and licensed or eligible to practice in the state of Pennsylvania.
