Staff Accompanist and Piano Instructor
Knox College invites applications for the fulltime 10month position of Staff Accompanist and Piano Instructor responsible for accompanying the Knox College Choir and Chamber Singers private lessons studio classes and recitals and teaching approximately 12 private piano students. This position reports to the Chair of the Music Department and works closely with the Director of Choral Activities.
Knox College is a selective liberal arts institution with a mission of providing access to students of all backgrounds. The staff accompanist will work with both majors and nonmajors in a setting that values support and collaboration among individuals with differing experiences and perspectives.

Essential Duties:
Ensemble Accompaniment including work with the Knox College Choir Chamber Singers and support for retreats concerts and events
Studio Accompaniment including inlesson accompaniment studio classes recital rehearsals and recitals
Private Studio Instruction providing piano lessons for approximately 12 students per academic term
Participation in departmental accompanying administration including scheduling and coordination of events.
Education and Experience:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Arts in Music Bachelor of Music or a bachelors degree in a closely related field
Preferred Qualifications:
Master of Music degree
In addition the successful candidate will:
possess professional accompaniment experience with preference given to candidates with choral or other ensemble accompaniment experience and outstanding collaborative piano skills.
demonstrate excellence in private studio instruction for students at all levels.
possess skills of communication and cultural competence to be effective serving the needs of a diverse community.
