The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition at Ochsner Childrens Hospital is seeking a board eligible/board certified pediatric gastroenterologist to join two experienced pediatric gastroenterologists at its expanding pediatric multispecialty practice at the Shaquille ONeal Pediatric Super Clinic in Baton Rouge LA. Fully integrated with our New Orleansbased subspecialty divisions our Baton Rougebased subspecialists are also supported locally by a robust pediatric primary care network pediatric therapy services and stateoftheart endoscopy suite.
Opportunity Details:
Primarily clinicbased position with citywide call shared among a collegial group of experienced pediatric gastroenterologists.
State of the art endoscopy suite with impedance pH and manometry capability colocated with the clinic at Ochsner Medical Complex The Grove
Close collaboration with 7 New Orleansbased partners including specialists in intestinal rehabilitation pancreatology advanced endoscopy IBD neurogastroenterology & motility and hepatology & liver transplant.
Additional multidisciplinary programs offered in Pediatric Feeding and Swallowing Aerodigestive care Disorders of GutBrain Interaction and Colorectal disorders.
Integrated practice model with strong internal referral network
EPIC medical record platform utilized throughout Ochsner Health

Our comprehensive Ochsner Childrens program includes 88 primary care pediatricians in 27 locations in Louisiana and Mississippi and pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists (Ochsner Childrens) totaling over 270 physicians. The group is the regions leading integrated provider of multispecialty care for newborns infants children adolescents and young adults. We offer a full range of pediatric complex specialty services including congenital heart surgery and cardiac transplantation liver and bone marrow transplantation a comprehensive surgical subspecialty group advanced GI and Hepatology advanced spine surgery HematologyOncology and AYA Oncology Cleft Palate/CranioFacial Surgery and the regions only comprehensive multidisciplinary developmental pediatrics center.
Ochsner Childrens currently cares for patients in a 67bed Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit a 14bed PICU a 12bed pediatric CVICU a NAECaccredited level IV 4 bed Pediatric EMU and a 44bed pediatric acute unit with a dedicated pediatric emergency room supported by a 247 dedicated pediatric and neonatal transport team utilizing rotary and fixed wing as well as ground transport. And we recently began construction on the building of a new comprehensive dedicated 5story Childrens Hospital on our main campus in New Orleans with expected opening at the start of 2028.
In addition to direct patient care Ochsner Childrens Hospital has an ACGMEaccredited pediatric residency program and is also responsible for teaching pediatric residents from the TulaneOchsner Pediatric Residency program as well as medical students from both Tulane and the University of Queensland Australia. Ochsner Health and Xavier University of Louisiana recently announced an agreement to establish a joint allopathic College of Medicine the Xavier Ochsner College of Medicine which is in the LCME accreditation process currently. Our faculty publishes hundreds of research papers annually and Ochsner participate in numerous multicenter studies and trials.
