Designs and implements treatment programs to maximize functional independence; evaluates the efficacy of the programs; evaluates and treats patients with cancerrelated disabilities; provides instruction to patients and caretakers in preparation for therapy and discharge; documents interventions and communications with health professionals; participates in educational programs; supervises physical therapy clinical interns and physical therapy assistants as needed. Characteristic of the position is the short unscheduled notice associated with reporting for duty the variable nature of the hours worked per payroll period and temporary nature of appointments to this title and the fact that this is a nonbenefit earning title.This is a per diem position. The starting hourly rate is $44.18 which includes the base hourly rate and geographical differential.
Qualifications:
Required Education and ExperienceLicense Requirement
License to practice as a physical therapist in the State of New York.
Education and Experience
1. Doctorate degree from an approved physical therapy program; or
2. Masters degree from an approved physical therapy program and the equivalent of one 1 year of full time experience in physical therapy or a related field; or
3. Bachelors degree from an approved physical therapy program and the equivalent of three 3 years of fulltime experience in physical therapy or a related field.
NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate should have acute care and oncology experience as well as strong written/oral communication skills
