OGLETHORPE UNIVERSITY located in Atlanta Georgia is seeking a tenuretrack Assistant Professor of Communication Film and Media Studies to start in Fall 2025. Candidates must be wellversed in digital pedagogy and capable of teaching courses in media studies digital/social media public speaking and media history/theory. Preference will be given to those with experience teaching courses such as Digital Storytelling Television Analysis Media Culture and Society Critical History of Radio TV and New Media Sports Communication and Latinx Media.
Responsibilities will include fulltime teaching 3/3 course load) engaging in regular service to the university and maintaining an active research agenda addition candidates will be expected to teach in the Adult Degree Program (evening) contribute to departmental/university service initiatives and mentor and advise students from diverse backgrounds.
Candidates who are ABD will be considered but a PhD in communication film or media studies (or a closely related discipline) is required at time of appointment (August 2025. In addition relevant teaching experience and a coherent research agenda are expected.
