Job Description

Overview

BronxCare has an opening for a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner. Our NICU is level 3B NICU with an average daily census of 1020 babies.Individual candidate requires recent NICU bedside nursing experience and an NNP degree.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include attendance at deliveries and stabilization intubation and management of sick premature and term newborns. There is a full spectrum of consultants HFOV and Nitric Oxide. Necessary skills include intubation UA/UV PICC line placement and blood draws. NNP will work with a team of house physicians and neonatologists making daily rounds with pediatric residents writing orders procedure notes and some admission notes. NNP will occasionally assist in emergencies in and evaluations of transfers from Newborn Nursery. There is expected participation in Division and Departmental meetings and Grand Rounds. New grads welcome

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program and licensed and currently registered as a Professional Nurse in the state of New York

Must pass pharmacology examination with a grade of 90

Minimum of three 3 years experience in a healthcare setting

Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner

Certification in field of specialty

Certification by the NY State Department of Education with prescriptive privileges.

Basic Computer knowledge
