Job Overview:
Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Workshop Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a diploma or higher qualification in Mechatronics Electronics or Electrical Engineering with some practical experience in programming PLCs. The role involves assembling testing and troubleshooting automation equipment as well as providing technical support to the engineering team.
The position is based in Bellville.
What Youll Do:
- Assembly installation and testing of PLC VSD and HMI systems.
- Troubleshooting and repairing electrical and automation components.
- Support programming testing and commissioning of PLCbased systems.
- Assist with system integration configuration and documentation.
- Collaborate with engineers to resolve technical issues.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
Your background ticks the following boxes:
- A Diploma or higher qualification in Mechatronics Electronics Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Practical experience or coursework involving PLC programming.
- Knowledge of industrial automation systems and control devices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Strong problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and develop further technical skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
- Preference will be given to candidates that are available immediately
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with PLC platforms.
- Experience with Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) and HumanMachine Interfaces (HMIs).
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g. Modbus Ethernet/IP Profibus).
