You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Amherst Public School District is seeking a part time .8 licensed School Psychologist for theschool year. This position will be shared between Fort River Pelham and Crocker Farm elementary schools including preschool. The candidate will be conducting both initial and reevaluations to determine eligibility for special education and participating in the IEP Team meetings. Strong assessment team collaboration communication and family engagement skills are needed. The person will be working closely with a team of personnel including Special and General Education teachers Guidance Counselors Speech & Language Pathologists Education Team Leaders and Administrators.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Initial and triennial evaluations to determine special education eligibility
Preparing and presenting comprehensive evaluation reports including cognitive and social/emotional assessment
Serving as a Team member for IEP meetings
Collaboration and working as a member of a team with other school personnel
Communication and engagement with families and outside agencies and providers
Completing crisis assessments such as selfharm screenings and threat assessments
Conducting FBAs and developing and monitoring behavior support and intervention plans
Attending school meetings (CST department faculty etc.
Attending districtwide meetings and trainings
Familiarity with traumainformed practices
Knowledge and expertise in designing and providing multitiered systems of support for social/emotional learning and mental health issues
Qualifications:
Massachusetts School Psychologist Education certification
Expertise conducting psychological and psychoed evaluations
Experience with culturally diverse populations
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Demonstrated experience working with and implementing the special education evaluation process parents rights and current special education law and regulations
Bilingual candidates with multicultural proficiency preferred
