Job Description
The Education Services Substitute Teacher is responsible for filling in for fulltime teachers (K12 in their absence. They must be knowledgeable in the subject matter they are teaching.
Position Responsibilities:
- Maintain schedule availability to accept teaching opportunities that arise
- Execute daily lesson plans consistent with the teachers guidelines and curriculum
- Adhere to all school policies including emergency protocals
- Take attendance and submit required daily reporting
- Assign homework according to teachers lesson plans
- Supplement lesson plans class activities
- Create and maintain classroom discipline for a safe and productive learning environment
- Additional duties as assigned
Position Qualifications:
- Associates Degree or 60 semester hours from an accredited college or university required
- Experienced teacher or substitute teaching
- Advanced competency in at least two subjects; general competency in all others
- Scheduling availability flexibility patience
- Confidence and proficiency in giving instruction
- Superb verbal and written communication skills
- Preferred teaching certificate
- Preferred bilingual (Spanish)
