Analytical Organic Lab CoOp Fall 2025

The Role:
Our site in Billerica MA is seeking a/an Analytical Organic Lab CoOp to join our team for the Fall 2025 season. This assignment is intended to be 6 months in duration.

The Analytical Chemist CoOp is responsible for performing experiments in our Metrology Labs. In this position you will assist with the development of a new organic analysis method that will support membrane R&D and NPD on developing leadingedge filtration and purification products. The coop will gain valuable experience in analytical testing for semiconductor filters/purifiers while being given a developmental opportunity in an industrial setting.

What Youll Do:
Learn how to conduct organic analysis using GCMS PyrolysisGCMS LCMS GNVR and TOC.
Analyze test results and provide recommendations for optimizing testing methods.
Maintain accurate records and document the new testing method.
Present project progress in group meetings.
You will be involved in one or more of following projects:
o Develop and validate a new method under the direction of a senior scientist and establish a new method for qualitative and quantitative analysis of organic impurities.
o Build up internal library/database with LCQToF to increase efficiency on unknown compounds identification.
o Participate in organic impurities mapping in djfferet solvent to provide valuable information to internal customers for solvent picking.
o Optimize TOC in routine analysis and beyond.

What We Seek:
Experience in handling chemicals operating laboratory equipment generating and interpreting data.
Experience in a chemistry lab experience
Detailoriented
Able to work well in a fastpaced environment
Demonstrates clear communication skills and motivation to learn.

Desired Major(s) & Graduation Year:
Chemistry Chemical Engineering Materials Science
Graduation date of December 2025 or later

Eligibility:
Must be a currently enrolled student
Available to work 40 hours a week MF 8a5p) beginning in July through December
Must be familiar with the universitys requirements to participate in a coop program

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift 17lbs solvent bottles. Must be able to run to a safety shower/eyewash in case of emergency

Compensation: $20$30/hour range with actual pay dependent on candidate overall skills for the role
