Job Description

We are currently looking for an Intermediate Electrical Designer to join our growing Commercial Division.

The Intermediate Electrical Designer reports directly to a Senior Manager with extensive experience in our Commercial Division and works with several team members who have a strong base of knowledge and industry experience.

Design for commercial buildings is primarily concerned with creating the most suitable environment for peopleoriented spaces. Almost forty years ago HH Angus created a specialized division for tenant work to address the fastpaced schedule of the commercial fitout sector. Our inhouse designers and engineers understand the priorities and objectives of commercial clients as well as the speedtomarket factor that is inherent in this type of work. Today our successful relationships in this market are a result of following a few simple rules: respond quickly provide total client support deliver solutions with longterm value and always keep focused on one important goal the clients peace of mind.

Responsibilities include:

  • Productive individual contributor
  • Creates concept designs design specifications and assesses constructability with coaching and support from more senior designers.
  • Develops the complete design package on time and within budgeted hours.
  • Assists with different project phases such as construction and materials as required.
  • Effectively applies tools and methodologies used for product and service delivery (e.g. AutoCAD HHA Drawing Standards Plotters etc.
  • Ensures technical accuracy of project deliverables.
  • Manages and prioritizes own project activities in order to meet project deadlines for all assigned tasks.
  • Develops and maintains good working relationships with clients on assigned projects.
  • Ensures timesheets logs and files are accurate and up to date.
  • Demonstrates an ability to work independently on assigned projects.
  • Works under close supervision in solving problems.
  • Other duties as required.

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • College diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent program
  • 57 years engineering consulting experience
  • 2 years experience in Tenant Projects preferred.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
  • Forward thinking eager to learn best practices and contribute with innovative ideas.
  • Good accuracy and documentation skills
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams including multidisciplinary teams.
  • Passionate about buildings and the built environment
