Job Description
Are you an experienced Field Service Technician with a passion for mechanical systems and field service operations Our customer a leading mechanical components company is hiring a talented Field Service Technician to join their team near Hoffman Estates IL. In this role youll travel across the United States to inspect repair and install equipment. Youll be responsible for diagnosing failures performing repairs and recommending corrective actions.
Key Responsibilities:
Service and maintain a variety of gear drives couplings and subassemblies
Disassemble units inspect parts and write reports on failed components
Analyze and resolve issues independently providing clear reports (including photos) to customers
Required Experience and Skills:
Experience with gearboxes such as transmissions heavy equipment assemblies or wind industry applications
5 years in field service operations
Rigging experience helpful
Experience using hand tools lathe and surface grinders
Proficiency with blueprints ISO documentation basic gearing and bearings
Computer literacy Microsoft Office experience (Outlook Word Excel) required
Preparation of expense reports and job/maintenance summaries
Occasional need to work in confined spaces and at heights
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Certifications and Requirements:
MSHA part 46 or 48 certification helpful
Flexibility with travel schedule required; including occasional weekends
Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record
