Job Description

Technical Sales Engineer (m/f)

SmarAct Inc. is a small but rapidly growing US subsidiary of SmarAct GmbH with headquarters in Germany. Dedicated to highest precision motion control SmarAct develops piezobased high performance micro and nanopositioners advanced control systems laser interferometers and microtools for cuttingedge research and hightech industries.

Job description:

To cope with the increasing demand in the US market SmarAct Inc. is in need of a tech savvy Sales Engineer (m/f) to work closely together with our Team in Berkeley CA.

Responsibilities:

  • Grow SmarAct Inc.s business in North America through
    • acquiring new customers and intensifying business relations with existing customers
    • with existing and new products
  • Selling our hightech products to our customers in various industries (semiconductors photonics solidstate technology metrology basic research etc.
  • Providing professional technical advice to our customers and proposing solutions to their challenges
  • Complete documentation of system requirements when finalizing agreements
  • Communication and coordination of customer requirements to the production site in Germany and monitoring of the production status
  • Supporting customers in the implementation of the products
  • Demonstrating our products during customer visits and at trade shows conferences and other events
  • Enhance our products and business by contributing own product improvement suggestions
  • Providing administrative support as needed (updating customer/supplier list reporting etc.
  • Training in Germany for several weeks

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree Masters degree or PhD in physics engineering optics automation or materials science and ideally several years of relevant experience in industry
  • Experience with scientific instrumentation and/or hightech products
  • Ability to quickly establish relationships with potential customers
  • Strong solution selling skills
  • Keen perception team player and willingness to work in an entrepreneurial and resultsoriented culture
  • Excellent organizational and problemsolving skills
  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English
