Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Other duties may be assigned. The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to the following fundamental duties:
- Assists in making academic content comprehensible to students.
- Reviews instructional plans with the classroom teacher in order to implement daily instruction.
- Assists children during learning and planned activity time as new materials are introduced.
- Reinforces materials introduced by the teacher.
- Assists in carrying out the classroom activities.
- Assists in supervising field trips walking tours and bus trips.
- Participates in inservice training programs/ professional development in ESL
- Participates in parent conferences.
- Reviews instructional plans with the classroom teacher /ESL Teacher to implement daily instruction.
- Assists with carrying out language goals listed in student LIEP.
- Participates in progress monitoring of students
Qualifications: Bilingual Preferred (Spanish/English). Experience with elementary school aged children. High School Diploma or GED Required. Those without 48 credit hours of postsecondary education will be required to obtain Highly Qualified status within 60 days.
External Candidates must upload required clearances. This includes the Act 34 (State Criminal Clearance) Act 151 (Child Abuse) and Act 114 (FBI Clearance). All Clearances must be within 1 year of application date. Candidates not providing updated clearances will not be considered for employment.
