Job Description

Applications will be accepted for a Speech and Language Assistant in the Westfield Public School District for the 2024 Special Education Extended Year Program. This program is scheduled to begin July 7 2024 and continue for four weeks Monday Thursday (no Friday dates) ending on July 31 2024.
Training Date:
July 1 2025 (all staff) 8:30 am 3:00 pm with hour unpaid lunch
Preference will be given to candidates possessing previous Westfield Public School Summer Program experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Assist in providing therapy to small and large groups of children.
  2. Assist in planning therapy activities and im making/coordinating materials.
  3. Assist in keeping records.
  4. assist speech pathologist during assignments.
  5. Perform any other duties that may be assigned.


This position subject to funding.
REPORTS TO:
Special Education Supervisor and Building Principal.

Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Westfield School Committee policy on evaluation.
