Job Description

USALCO (the Company) is a leading provider of water treatment solutions for municipal and commercial customers in the United States offering bespoke formulated chemistries and leading product efficacy to address a diverse range of water treatment requirements. The Company is looking to hire a Controller to support its robust growth plan. This is an exciting time to join both USALCO and the water treatment industry.

This position supports the senior leadership of the company with analyses and insights to drive the business forward. You can directly impact the bottom line in this job. In this position you will partner not only with the Companys VP Finance but also support the CFO. This is a hybrid position.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Close Cycle: Lead and streamline the monthend and yearend closing processes including reviews of complex financial statement accounts (reconciliations journal entries and adjustments).
  • Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements ensuring GAAP compliance and other regulatory requirements. Manage the Companys daytoday general ledger accounting.
  • Internal Controls: Develop and maintain effective internal controls to ensure reliability of financial reporting effectiveness of operations and safeguard company assets.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the accounting team fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Audit & Tax: Manage relationships with external auditors tax advisors and other financial partners. Oversee sales and use tax compliance.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all financial and accounting policies procedures credit requirements and regulations.
  • Technical Accounting: Provide technical accounting support for nonrecurring transactions research and manage implementation of applicable accounting guidance as necessary and lead in production of required white papers/support and summaries to executive leadership.
  • Noncash Compensation: Manage employee vesting valuation and accounting for noncash compensation program and liability.
  • Business Partner: Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to support business initiatives and drive financial performance
  • Acquisition Support: Provide duediligence and post acquisition integration support
  • Transformation: Manage and lead finance transformation efforts in automation and continuous improvement

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in accounting CPA preferred
  • 57 years of related accounting experience some of which with a public accounting firm
  • 3 years industry experience as an accounting manager assistant controller preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP financial reporting and internal controls.
  • Proficient in financial software and ERP systems (Aptean ROSS Planful preferred)
  • Experience working in a private equityowned business is desirable
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
