Your Team & Role

As a Lead Cloud Engineer in Global Technology & Operations (GTO) you will partner with product owners tech leads designers software engineers and delivery professionals to improve on the Cloud Platform. You will design plan administer develop or maintain applications in cloudbased environments as we solve sophisticated business problems deploy innovative products services and experiences to delight our customers! In addition to advanced technical expertise and experience you will bring excellent problem solving communication and teamwork skills along with agile ways of working strong business insight an inclusive leadership attitude and a continuous learning focus to all that you do.

Here is What You Can Expect on a Typical Day

  • Deliver computing services in cloudbased environments like Microsoft Azure or AWS. Develop and support solutions to automate the creation management or destruction of infrastructure; remove technical impediments

  • Provide easily consumable services to software development teams to assist in the consumption of infrastructure solutions and partner to implement them

  • Accelerate application development by building patterns of infrastructure services that are consumed selfservice resilient reliant and in accordance with Prudential standards

  • Collaborate with product owners in understanding needs and defining feature stories tech leads in defining technical design and other team members to understand the system endtoend and deliver robust solutions that bring about business impactand support the goals

  • Automate unit and integration test cases solve problems and add new value with automation

  • Develop corporate platform standards based on cost capability and capacity requirements to drive business value; document solutions to support the adoption of developed solutions

  • Bring a strong understanding of relevant and emerging technologies provide input and coach team members and embed learning and innovation in the daytoday

  • Work on complex problems in which analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible variables.

  • Apply infrastructure fundamentals to Linux/Unix operating systems database network and TCP/IP and common communication protocols

  • Use programming languages including but not limited to Python Shell/Power scripting Groovy Modern languages and Ansible CloudFormation and Terraform frameworks

The Skills & Expertise You Bring

  • Bachelors degreeor equivalent experiencein Information Technology ComputerScienceor a related field

  • Ability to lead independently with minimal guidance and effectively leverage diverse ideas experiences thoughts and perspectives to the benefit of the organization

  • Experience with agile development methodologies and TestDriven Development (TDD)

  • Knowledge of business concepts tools and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the companys business

  • Understanding of foundational Azure services such as Azure Virtual Network Azure ExpressRoute Azure Virtual Machines Azure Blob Storage Azure SQL Azure Virtual Machine Scale Sets Azure Grid Azure Batch Azure O365 and Sharepoint Apps Azure Monitor Azure Image Gallery. etc.

  • Ability to proficiently write code in Python Node.js Bash (shell) PowerShell or other similar languages.

  • Strong knowledge of Docker and container orchestration platforms such as Azure Container Instances AKS and others.

  • Familiar with ETL and big data toolchains such as those provided by Azure Databricks/HDInsight Azure Data Factory or similar.

  • Solid understanding of DevOps automation tools practices & capabilities (continuous integration & continuous delivery)such as Jenkins GitHub Terraform or other comparable tools.

  • Ability to learn new skills and knowledge on an ongoing basis through selfinitiative and tackling challenges

  • Believes in a nonhierarchical culture of collaboration transparency and trust across the team

  • Not afraid to roll up the sleeves and seeks to go outside comfort zone to learn pushes the team to do the same

Preferred Qualifications

  • Finance/Insurance industry experience is a plus not a must

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $138500.00 to $206000.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location candidate experience and skills.
