Essentia Health seeks a compassionate and skilled Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Family Medicine department at the Detroit Lakes Clinic. As part of a multidisciplinary team youll provide highquality patientcentered care in a supportive and collaborative environment. Detroit Lakes is a growing community with ample recreation opportunities. Our team comprises 18 primary care providers one internal medicine physician one cardiology NP and one IM/Peds NP.
- 1.0 FTE fulltime status; 36 patient contact hours
- MonFri from 8a5p; mainly clinic hours with call rotation (telephone only) and occasional weekend coverage
- Family Medicine trained/certified required to care for all patients newborn and up.
- One year of advanced practice experience preferred.
- The ideal candidate would be willing/able to care for pediatric patients.
- Will require coverage of other outreach clinics (Frazee Lake Park Pelican Rapids Mahnomen) to cover CME vacations etc.
- 1618 Patients per day
- Minimal procedures per day
- Ability to work within a team
- 13 years of experience preferred
The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant utilizes advanced health assessment knowledge and decisionmaking skills. The NP/PA works independently and collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals. NP/PAs provide health care to individuals and families promoting health and preventing disease. As noted in agerelated categories and areas of expertise they may care for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly. The position requires high customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients coworkers and others.
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
- Masters or Doctorate in Nurse Practitioner or Bachelors/Masters degree in Physician Assistant program from an accredited program/institution.
- Family Medicine trained/certified required to provide care for all ages
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Current licensure as a registered nurse in the appropriate state (if NP).
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in appropriate state.
- Current certification in CPR
- National certification in applicable area.
- Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process before practice.
