Job Description Summary:
The GNC System Architecture group is seeking a highly motivated coop student interested in working on a team responsible for the of Systems Engineering Integration and Test tasks that utilize ModelBased Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies. In this 6month coop role the student will help the engineering team build and optimize SysMLbased models using MagicDraw and create new capabilities within the tool.Job Description:
Design develop and enhancement engineering solutions for challenging problems.
Implement test perform analysis and provide documentation support.
Generate and present test reports including plots tables evaluation criteria and conclusions from data collected and analyzed throughout the test process.
Complete assignments designed to develop a practical knowledge of processes procedures equipment facilities and systems as well as their interrelationships within engineering disciplines.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Program Requirements
Enrolled in an accredited engineering curriculum fulltime undergraduate or graduate degree program required.
Coop Students must be able to work fulltime for a 6 month period.
There is flexibility regarding hours and program duration based on applicants school schedule and availability.
Skills/Abilities
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent work ethic with the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Ability to adapt to everchanging environments risks and vulnerabilities.
Strong computer skills including MS Word PowerPoint and Excel.
Additional Job Description:
Duties/Responsibilities
Work closely with systems engineers to develop and implement new modelbased processes and methods
Support the creation of modeling guidelines for developing requirements use cases functions structural decomposition and interfaces within the model.
Explore model validation techniques to enforce a more common modeling approach across teams
Create and execute scripts that analyze data within an objectoriented program
Understand stakeholder needs and concerns and generate data from modeling tools to address them
Regularly present progress and technical artifacts to the team

- Is a selfstarter and teamplayer with a desire to learn new things
- Has excellent written and oral communication skills
- Has excellent work ethic with the ability to work independently
- Is familiar with Drapers core business areas and technologies and understands concepts of systems engineering and engineering design
- Has strong modeling skills and is comfortable using new software and tools
A preferred candidate:
- Has familiarity with ModelBased Systems Engineering and/or objectoriented programming languages
- Has experience using SysML Java C MATLAB or Python languages
- Has experience working with complex systems throughout each phase of the engineering lifecycle
- Has experience relevant to Guidance Navigation and/or Control technologies
Applicants selected for this position may be required to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
Pay Range: $28.00 $39.00/hr.
