South Shore Regional Centre for Education
The South Shore Regional Centre for Education (SSRCE) practices the culturally responsive pedagogy approach in providing an inclusive diverse equitable safe and healthy education that supports learning and success both personally and academically to the 59000 residents of Lunenburg and Queens Counties an area of 5250 square kilometres and a total of 23 schools.

Qualifications:
Valid drivers license; trainees will be required to obtain a Class 2B with air brake endorsement license. (This training program will prepare participants for the test for the Class 2B drivers license and air brake endorsement.
Completion of South Shore Regional Centre for Education bus driver training course or equivalent.
Ability to work collaboratively with other transportation staff.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Effective interpersonal skills.

Hours may change due to overnight resting spot. A new time and meterage must be completed within one week of hiring.
These are casual bus driver positions with the South Shore Regional Centre for Education. The location varies based on need. The rate of pay is $26.28/hour. Successful applicants will take the South Shore Regional Centre for Education bus driver training program which is provided free of charge. This training program will prepare participants for the test for the Class 2B drivers license. A clean drivers abstract and Criminal Records check is required and experience working with school age children is an asset.
BACKGROUND/SECURITY CHECKS:
The South Shore Regional Centre for Educationrequires allnewly hiredemployees to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record / Vulnerable SectorCheck and a Nova Scotia Child Abuse Register Check. We will accept checks completed within the last 3 months.
Regional Office based positions require travel and candidates may be required to provide a valid drivers license. Some school based positions also require travel and candidates may be required to provide a valid drivers license.
