Arlington Public Schools seeks a full timeteacher of Spanish in grades 78 at Ottoson Middle School.Candidates should have advanced oral proficiency in Spanish and demonstrated oral and written communication skills in English. Candidates should have knowledge of researchbased effective world language pedagogy including the ACTFL WorldReadiness for Language Learning Standards. Candidates should be able demonstrate use of a variety of materials and modes of instruction incorporating authentic resources and be adept with technology. Effective techniques for classroom management and developing relationships with students are essential as well as the ability to work effectively with students parents colleagues and community members.
Valid Massachusetts DESE teaching licensure Foreign Language Spanish Grades 512 is required.
Arlington has a well established new teacher induction program with mentoring throughout the school year.
Salary and Benefits are consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Arlington School Committee and the Arlington Education Association.
