Job Description
Lighthouse Lab Services is representing a diagnostic facility committed to providing accurate and timely laboratory services. Their stateoftheart facility in Brooklyn NY serves a diverse patient population with a focus on exceptional quality and customer service. They are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Anatomic Pathologist to join their team.
Responsibilities:
Slide Interpretation:
Accurately review and interpret GYN (gynecological) and nonGYN (nongynecological) cytology and histology slides.
Provide comprehensive diagnostic reports and communicate findings to referring physicians and healthcare providers.
Histology Department Oversight:
Supervise and manage the Histology department including staff workflows and quality control processes.
Ensure compliance with laboratory standards and regulatory requirements.
Implement and maintain protocols for specimen processing slide preparation and staining procedures.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with other pathologists Medical Directors and laboratory personnel to facilitateaccurate diagnoses and effective patient care.
Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and provide expert opinions on complex cases.
Quality Assurance and Improvement:
Monitor and evaluate the performance of histology techniques and diagnostic procedures.
Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance diagnostic accuracy and laboratory efficiency.
Educational and Professional Development:
Stay current with advancements in anatomic pathology and histology.
Participate in continuing education opportunities and professional development activities.
Education and Certification Requirements:
The qualified candidate will possess a doctoral degree (MD/DO) and the following:
ABP American Board of Pathology certification in Anatomic Pathology; additional certification in Cytopathology is a plus
Currently holds a NY State Medical License
Strong leadership and management abilities
Salary:
$400000 dependent upon experience
